You and your partner drive. Choose the best shot and play your own ball the rest of the way. A team’s number of strokes for a given hole is that of the lower scoring team member. Higher scores can feel bad about wasting that beautiful drive your team chose. Go get‘em on the next hole!

American Foursomes

Also known as Modified Alternate Shot. You and your partner drive. On the second shot, you hit your partner’s ball where it lies and your partner hits your ball where it lies. On the third shot, choose one ball to play, alternating shots between partners, until you hole out.
Match Play Description
All play is match play: you either win the hole (+1), lose the hole (-1), or halve the hole (E). It does not matter what the final tally is for the round, so if you’re blowing it bad on a hole and you have no shot to win it, concede and go get’em on the next hole. Conversely, there is money on the line and gimmie putts should be actual gimmie putts. A putter grip or more away from the hole should not be given. If you are down more holes than there are holes left to play, (for example: 4 holes with 3 holes to play) you've lost that nine. Side action time!
