Notable Updates
After many years of attempts to repair the brittle pot-metal Swinging Penguin that sat atop the Ballantine Cup—including JB Weld epoxy, added metal supports, and professional welding—the figure was ultimately recast in bronze with the help of Capt. Teuscher’s father-in-law. This ensures the longevity and integrity of the Penguin for years to come.
Following the unfortunate incident at Mr. Cosgrove’s house shortly after the 2025 Gentlemen of the Blue Championship Celebration, the wooden portions of the trophy were repaired with new top and bottom pieces crafted from solid Oak hardwood. The remaining hardwood was stripped and refinished, and brass corner hardware was added to help protect the corners during future handling and transport.
The Gentlemen of the Blue also upgraded the kegerator by adding two magnetic Cup Holders—one red and one blue correcting a long standing issue with the lack of space to dispense cups.
